My cat is sitting here meowing at me–why, I don’t know. I think it’s because he likes being a pain in the ass. He has food, water, and reasonably clean litter, what more can he ask for? He even has a brother to beat on when he’s feeling so inclined. Plus he gets to be lazy all freaking day, doesn’t have to work, all he does is eat and sleep, and get in my way. What a life…
Right, so that’s exciting. What else is going on in my life? I finished school in May, I’m officially an alumni of Michigan State. I suppose what that means for me is now all I have to do is work; I actually have some free time again. Now that I’m done with school I suppose it’s time to figure out what I want to do with my life. I’d say figure out what I want to do when I grow up, but we should all probably give up on that one. I know how to weld, I’ve spent the last 7 years fixing computers, and I have a degree in Political Science, and you know what? None of that sounds like a career to me. I want to do something fun and exciting, and I want to live someplace fun and exciting. Any ideas?
So one of the last posts I made previous to this was about my Cutlass being in rough shape. Well I sold that at the end of February and bought a 91 S10. That promptly stopped running, I got my Bimmer out of storage and the truck sat at the side of the garage until about a month ago. At that point Scott came down with a trailer to haul the truck up to Saint Johns, I wanted him to sell it for me. As it turned out though, a new alternator was all it needed to start running again. That was not, however, all that was needed for it to be roadworthy. The fuel system was shot, hole in the tank, everything rusty as hell, so that had to be replaced. We put in a new tank, fuel pump, fuel tank sending unit, and fuel filter, and the fuel system is as good as new. The front brakes were also toast, as well as the majority of the brake lines, so most of the lines got replaced, along with the front rotors, pads, wheel bearings, and brake hoses. Now if only I could do something (free, that is) about the completely rusted suspension… Not sure what I’m going to do with this thing, I’ve got way more into it that it’s worth at this point, and I’d like to use it for a little while to keep the miles off the M3, but at the same time I should really get rid of it. Guess we’ll see what happens.
Oh yeah, and I’m going to Switzerland at the end of September.

Update
Ever notice how sometimes life just seems to fly by and before you know it five months have gone by? Thus explaineth my lack of posts since last summer. Life actually is very busy right now though, and not necessarily in a good way. Work is going well, I’m putting in a bit more than twenty hours a week, and I’d much rather I was there full time. Unfortunately, at this point I’m still taking classes and they’re chewing up way too much of my time. I look at life in terms of ROI, and short term I’m getting absolutely nothing out of these four classes. In fact, the only thing that makes them worthwhile is that this is my very last and final semester and I’ll be graduating in may. Obviously the long term ROI outweighs the short term, but sometimes it’s a little hard to keep that in mind. I’ve got so much reading to do this semester, twelve books to be exact, and most of it is very dry, dense, and tedious.

See? I wasn’t kidding. Look at those titles, I mean are you at all inspired to great scholarly works? I’m certainly not. I’ve been very ready for a long time now to move beyond school and into the working world full time, and with three months to go I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was really just hoping for a light-hearted jaunt through my last semester instead of a forced death march.
And speaking of forced death marches, my ‘95 Cutlass may just be on its last leg. I’ve had the car since March of 2001, and I’ve logged approximately 110,000 miles on top of the 103,00 it had when I got it. At this point the hood is rusting pretty badly, the AC doesn’t work, the thermostat reports the temp about twenty degrees higher than actual, it’s leaking oil, the suspension is shot, the driver side door handle is broken, the driver side window doesn’t go down at all, and, to top it all off, the car has started consuming great quantities of coolant. In fact, the coolant is disappearing at such and alarming rate I’m worried about how long the engine is going to last. YAY!

Right, so I fell off the face of the Earth…
But now I’m back! Well, I’m not writing any more than this right now, but I will soon, so keep an eye open.
